Gisborne District Council has received a notice of a requirement for a designation from the Ministry of Education.
The requirement is for a site to enable the relocation of Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Horouta Wānanga Wharekura (school). The Wharekura will be developed for a roll of 300 students.
The site is located within an established residential area in Kaiti, opposite Te Poho-o-Rāwiri marae. The site consists of 8 properties in Ranfurly Street and 3 properties in Crawford Road. Four of the properties are vacant of any buildings.
Any person may make a submission, but a person who is a trade competitor of the requiring authority may do so only if that person is directly affected by an effect of the activity to which the requirement relates that:
- adversely affects the environment; and
- does not relate to trade competition or the effects of trade competition.

Submissions close 4pm 16 February 2023. Submissions made via post, must be in the post by the due date and time.
Your submission must also be served on the requiring authority as soon as reasonably practicable after serving your submission on Gisborne District Council.
